Stroke Play
This is the standard golf scoring system. Players total their strokes and compare to course Par. Example: Joe shoots 82 on a Par 72 course — his score is +10.
When selected, the Automatic Overlay Generator will use this scoring method to create the overlays.
Match Play
Players or teams compete to win individual holes rather than count total strokes. Example: Joe and Larry are playing match play. On hole 1, Joe makes par and Larry misses—Joe wins the hole and goes 1 up. Larry wins the next hole, so the match is all square.
